Open Mind
Open Mind is a creative multimedia and peer support project for people recovering from mental ill-health. The project develops new ways to support people using creative expression and visual methods to build new relationships and community-based networks.
The project has been running practical script development workshops, and participants supported by Real Time have planned, recorded, edited and distributed a short film shot entirely in Reading (A Life Half Real).
The film and the project aims to increase awareness about mental health issues locally and to show that people recovering from mental ill-health can make positive, dynamic and inspiring contributions to the creative life of Reading.
The group meets at the Rising Sun Arts Centre, every Tuesday from 6-7 PM.
