Mwiki Real Time Disabilities Fund

In 2013 Real Time visited Mwiki in Nairobi for a documentary film 'Work with us' as part of the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

See 'Work with us' below for more details.

Mwiki is close to some of the largest slums in Africa.
Real Time still has many contacts on the ground there and is trying to raise some funds for the disabled children.

“When we came round making a film to be shown to the UN High Level Panel, they brought her out. She was 16 and hadn’t left her home for 3 years. We spent a whole day filming with this girl. Unfortunately her story never made the final cut. 16!… Should be the best time of her life, no? She’ll be round 19 now. I don’t know what happened to her but I’m aiming to find out.”

One of the main problems for disabled people in Mwiki is access. Mwiki is now in the Guinness book of records for having the worst roads. Click the 'Mwiki problems' button below to read more about Mwiki's access problems.

Your donation willl be 100% effective

No middleman or marketing, no 30% going to a charity CEO… all money raised will go directly into the hand of Jacinta (the village elder). We have someone going there soon and updates will be posted as we get them.
